This technology brings an unprecedented level of authenticity to FIFA Ultimate Team – it’s the first time that players are actually tracked as they run, take contact and make their way into 50 versus 50 matches. We’ve been testing this technology at the FIFA Interactive World Cup – where we have real, human-controlled player data that we’ve analysed to form the basis for the HyperMotion, and we now have a complete match to show the world the results. With the data we have from that, we’re now able to make adjustments to the speed, reaction, movement, control and comfort of the players. It’s the first time that we’ve been able to make this level of adjustment to every player, and we’re going to deliver a game that’s even more authentic for players.” This track records the movements and actions of the gamers during a match, which is then translated into the game in real time. The game does not require any additional hardware or software. The data provided is real-time and reflects the intended movement of the player. Each player has a deep understanding of the game and the real-world data is used to create their movement models. Players are able to view information in-game about the friction of the ball to better predict how and when they should make contact with the ball. Players also receive coaching tips and analysis to improve their performance and become more familiar with their real-world data. Every aspect of the artificial intelligence and control of the game is now based on the high-fidelity data gathered in-game. One of the first things you notice is the balls acceleration as it is caught and passed, and the player has the ball as it gets nearer to the goal.
