Alternative to computationally intensive applications for Server 2008

I’m currently running a Windows Server 2008 as a web server. However, with the large amount of traffic I receive, the server runs slowly and acts up from time to time.
The only applications I run on the server are a MySQL database and a TeamViewer server.
I would like to know if I can use another web server and still be able to access the applications from the client.
