## How to Install?

1. Download and unzip file to any folder

3. The setup.sh will help you configure kiax and also ask you to setup Asterisk configuration. It will take around 10-15 minutes to setup and configure kiax.

* The default asterisk configuration file includes SIP `ah`, `uart` and `dtmf` extension

* Register with Kiax to get the SIP URI link

4. You have the setup complete, you can now launch the app to enjoy it.

Kiax is a VoIP softphone that you can use to make VoIP calls using the
SIP protocol. It is completely free, open source and cross platform
software.

I want to use kiax to make internet calls from my pc to another using my home phone network. So here’s what I’d do:

open kiax and fill the settings for the other phone (in my case its BT Home Phone) on the sIP Connect tab in kiax.

I’d also save the settings I choose. (I’d use a SIP proxy in this case)

connect with the sIP Proxy.

Use kiax to make an outgoing call to somebody.

I’d also use qvc as a SIP route to my other phone (in my case its BT Home Phone)

to use qvc to route the call through, you’d need to use the the bridge option on the SIP tab.

You’d then have the option of calling someone through the bridge to qvc that would route the call through the qvc.

Since I would be using the ‘bridge’ option, ‘ringing’ the home phone will not trigger a call. I’m going to have to create a script that runs an event to handle that functionality.

To make it easier for me I can use a script to activate my phone when an incoming call came through the bridge.

I can do this by making a script that looks for an incoming call from the phone that’s ringing.

For example: (this is just a rough example)

Then I can run the script by command from the command line

So in my case I would run the script with this command
