In this unofficial remake of the 1999 PC game, players will be able to use the 3D controls of a gamepad to travel through ancient ruins, underground caverns, and procedurally generated levels to solve puzzles in order to advance and leave the game. Just like in its source material, players will use different abilities and weapons as they progress through the game’s 15 stages. While helpful, this feature means that the game is very easy and casual friendly, something that can be off putting to some. Space Channel 5 features a similar system with up to eight player-controlled companions, each with their own unique abilities, while the game is text based and contains no dialogue. The game is not as comprehensive in narrative structure as the original however, something that was clearly one of the strengths of the game. Like many roguelike-like games, combat is the main focus. While combat is interesting enough, there are a few issues with Space Channel 5 that make it less of a player friendly game. First, it could be difficult to quickly select a weapon as the game only has a limited number of weapons.
