No, this is not a Nazi invasion. But it is in a nice approximation of a World War II submarine game.

You manage your invisible submarine from space. Your mission is to disable the German ships and find out what is happening on Earth.

During the game you can deploy your submersible on the sea or in outer space. When the game is paused you can control your unmanned sub in space.

In the game, you can get two of your four air tanks under pressure by diving deeper, and you are able to fire in all directions. In space, a missile can fly up to 3,000 km while doing a maximum velocity of 2,000 km/h, and is also able to fire in three directions.

You can deactivate your enemy’s weapons during the game and deploy countermeasures against enemy missiles. With the help of the anti-missile radar and the map, your submarine can not only fire but also penetrate enemy defenses.

If you have to go to the surface, just remember the submarine can be completely destroyed, which is why it is strongly advised to not go out of your depth.

Unfortunately, the graphics in Iron Sky are a bit plain and are hard to see on a low-end PC. (Please note that I’m still able to run the game on some old hardware.). The worst thing about the game is that it has too many cheats enabled, and the developer doesn’t take problems with that very seriously. I even had to report a bug to the developer myself because the game keeps saving me twice when I click “Continue”. (Because the game kept crashing due to technical problems).

There are lots of small, pretty annoying bugs present in Iron Sky, and they can make you lose hours of gameplay. The launch is often broken (I lost 4 hours when my game crashed). The enemy missiles sometimes appear and disappear without a warning.

Another issue is that both spaces are represented by too small of a graphics. You can’t change the graphics settings in the main menu so you just have to guess when your enemy has more than 3000 meters to go.

Even with all these very small problems, Iron Sky is still a fun game. Unfortunately, I’m not sure how easy it is to keep the fun going for more than some hours in the game because of all those cheats and bugs.

New to Big Klondike is the addition of the Main Tile deck (deck 1). This deck is split up into two piles. One pile is the Top Deck, and the other is the Main Deck. This means you can play a 1 draw version of the game, if you prefer.

Also, the deck is shuffled differently then what has been done in the past. Currently, Big Klondike has been play tested on the Timer with one of our most notable shufflers. This shuffler allows up to 200 moves per game. All other shufflers have been play tested and verified to be possible. Though there is still some optimization to be done, Big Klondike allows for 0-200 moves and up to 5 total shuffles (3 random shuffles and 1 winnable shuffle).

If you wish to play a more casual game, where you don’t have to worry about watching the time as much, the timer can be turned off in the game settings.

Big Klondike is made so that you can create your own shufflers as well. This is done by utilizing our in-game components. You can download the add-on “Stuffit Decks” which is where you can drag and drop your own decks. The easiest way to do this is to go to Tools->Add Components->Stuffit Decks. Then you can start shuffling using our own shufflers. You can also use the new shuffler currently in beta testing. This beta shuffler allows you to go past 200 moves, and to create your own shuffles. We have added the “i” symbol above the columns. This will automatically fill the column to the top.

There are a few changes to the GUI. We decided to go with a smaller and cleaner design. The Big Klondike GUI currently has the cards sorted by color. We have now moved the GUI over to cards being sorted by column, and placing values accordingly.

With Big Klondike, you can adjust the transparency of your GUI with the new GUI settings.

Tamaki Naitou (桐野 拓) is a 49-year-old former DJ from Kansai who’s currently in charge of the live show atmosphere on DOA6 and the five-judge line-up at New Year’s Idol.
