Set in the early fifteenth century, the epic struggle between the Spanish and the Native American tribes is the focus of this strategy game.

As is usual in most strategy games, you start off with a measly amount of money and land. However, you need to build your navy, hire mercenaries to raid enemy territories, and seize some trading posts in your quest to become the leader of your Spanish-speaking people.

Your objective is to take control of the land by expanding your territories and conquering the Native American tribes. This is easier said than done though, as you have to defend your territories from enemy attacks while also managing the economy.

You can attack the enemy by building your Navy, or you can attack the enemy’s territory with your army.

Depending on the amount of money you have at the time, you can build one of the following upgrades:

Navy – Increase your overall naval capabilities

Army – Expand your armies

Research – More unlockable strategies and tactics

Trade – Increase the overall amount of money you have

Gold – Increase your overall amount of Gold

Disease – Increase the number of diseases in your lands

Technology – Unlock additional technology tiers

Legislation – Increase the laws, which will allow you to build your own laws

In all, Commander: Conquest of the Americas is a very enjoyable game. You will be immersed into the culture of the Native American tribes, and it will surely keep you busy for the next few hours of gameplay.

In conclusion, if you are looking for something different that will be challenging for you, and entertaining for your kids as well, then Commander: Conquest of the Americas is exactly what you need to try out.

This is a good game, but it seems to be rather limited in scope and very old-fashioned in terms of interface. There is not a lot of variation on which tactics you use and where you place your units in the different terrains. Also, there are only a very limited number of units to choose from. However, the game looks great and looks like it has potential.

If you can stick with it, this game can be fun – but it can be frustrating, too. Again, it seems to be a niche game that just requires a certain amount of patience, but maybe it’s just me.
