Set in the world of the Poe’s short story “The Tell-Tale Heart”, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs takes the spirit of the classic tale of terror and conjures up a real horror experience. You are the detective, who takes on the task of finding a criminal at the heart of a story of murder, sadism and revenge.
In Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs you will solve puzzling environmental puzzles, explore exotic locations and unearth devastating clues that will open up your memories of the past. The clues are placed behind locked doors and key cards are required to open them.

The game is set in a 1920’s World of Enigma. The locations are beautifully presented with a feel of a world which is a synonym for the 19th century. Most of the details like the furniture, the food and the decoration are placed in the right eras and locations.
The story is based on the short story of Edgar Allan Poe’s, The Tell Tale Heart and inspired by his famous criminal fiction. In the story an unnamed man goes to visit a museum at the heart of a mystery. The story is set in ancient Rome, in a museum of the dead, and opens up with a few of the best examples of Poe’s short stories.
The unique art style gives an almost Gothic atmosphere to the game. Scenes and objects are reflected in mirrors, which creates a feeling of gloomy world. The strange atmosphere appears to be permanent, every locale is full of a sense of unrest and mystery. The real beauty of the art style is in the fact that it does not have a single jumpy camera movement and it is non-interactive.
Every single object and every single step gives you a variety of options to find the solution. There is nothing easy about finding this solution.
The entire game is centered around a melancholic piano tune that has a great impact on the game. The music will play as you explore a location, solve puzzles and even as you save a person trapped in the water.
The story is not very central of the game, but the puzzles form a major part of the game. In this game you will use logic, reasoning and even magic to solve puzzles in a series of locked doors and corridors. To open them you have to use lock picking tools that have a variety of uses like opening doors, opening locks, turning dials, stealing money and feeding a pet.
The puzzles are also quite challenging, which makes the game quite unique and enjoyable as a whole.

    Which migration path to follow for shared hosting API’s

    I’m working on creating an API for a shared hosting platform that allows hosting providers to manage their resources. I’ll of course provide a Ruby, Node, or RoR client library for actually calling the API’s exposed methods.
    The API has two main benefits over regular PHP or ASP.Net:

    On each request, PHP, ASP.Net and ASP.Net Core will compile the script and therefore generate a byte code instead of just getting a string to parse (this saves time in single request and avoids hitting the timeouts provided by the hosts)
    Each request can have a maximum of (currently) 30Mb of data (though this limit can be changed in the future by the API’s and not the hosts).

    Currently the API has two entry points (based on the backend language):

    .php – uses PHP, which mean that a lot of things are automatic for the user (f.e. using an anonymous function with file_get_contents(…)). Limitations:
